Anne's blog

History:

At the age of 14, the Holy Spirit made it very obvious He was drawing Anne to Himself...to be in relationship with God the Father and that was possible through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. On December 8, 1999, Anne became a follower of Christ. The church body instantly became a much needed support system as she matured into a young woman. During her entire high school and college years, and continuing into the post-baccalaureate years, Anne's involvement with ministry at Snowbird Wilderness Outfitters (SWO) has been an incredible tool the Lord has used in opening doors towards a better understanding of who God is, who she is in Christ, and the responsibility she has to be a good steward of the ministry opportunities that surround her. The connection with SWO was a linking tool in bringing her to Missouri for preparation to lead a crew of 9 others to Peru through the FUSION program. She has a desire to share Christ through relational evangelism and looks forward to living in the villages of those folks in the Andes Mountains of Peru for four months.

Strategy:

There will be a team of eight people from the FUSION program going down to Peru the Spring 2010 semester. FUSION is associated with the International Mission Board (IMB). The team will be split into four teams of two people who will share the Gospel through Bible storytelling, assist and be an example to any local believers so that they can shine the Light in their own neighborhood as well. After about a month the teams will regroup, debrief for a few days, and then re-disperse out into the mountain villages. The teams will be paired with Journeymen (IMB missionaries) who have been established in the area and know the languages to aid in translation and spiritual encouragement. There is not a detailed itinerary of what the actual task will be set before the teams, but the teams are preparing to share the Gospel in anyway that presents itself. For more info please visit www.gofusion.ws.

Prayer Requests:

  • Learning, memorizing, and sharing the Bible stories
  • Teams of two will be in each village/town. Pray for the ways they will communicate and who unity within the Body as they live their for a month at a time.
  • Chris and I (Anne), as we travel to each village. We will be traveling weekly to encourage our teammates and interact with the Peruvians.
  • Two of our teammates, Rita and Trea, are no longer going. Pray for their situations and that they would diligently pursue the Lord.
  • Building relationships with the translators that will be paired with each team. They may or not be Christians. If not, pray for their salvation.
  • To joyfully learn Spanish and go outside our comfort zones to learn.
  • Wisdom in how to lead and disciple the five girls under my leadership (Abbie, Iesha, Kaitlan, Amy, and Lauren) and how to encourage them along with the other two male team members (Christopher and Vincent);
  • The people of the mountain villages that the teams will live with. To build relationships and to have opportunities to share Christ boldly and in love.
  • Continued awareness for the team to be diligent in personal study time. To have a hunger for the Word and a heightened awareness of how to prefer others above themselves.
