If you are a SMOi missionary the following instructions may help you with...

Creating your SMOi profile:

Your profile information needs to be emailed to corey pendergrass or Jenn Forchetti. Please send them as much of the following as you can asap. If you cannot give some of the following because of security reasons, please indicate so.

• Dates/seasons worked at SWO (Indicate if full-time, summer staff, OLD School, SMO, servant team, etc.)
• Birth date (in case someone wants to wish you a happy birthday)
• Portrait
  • 250 x 250 pixels (or larger)
  • If you would rather have a silhouette portrait (example) for security please send an actual photo and indicate that you would like it made into a silhouette.
• History/biography
  • Third person
  • Max. 400 words
  • Testimony, why you are a missionary
• Approximate dates of mission
• Up-to-date available contact info
  • Email
  • Phone
  • Mailing address
  • Skype username
  • Facebook
  • etc.
• Support
  • Third person
  • A description of your financial support while overseas
  • If you'd like to invite visitors on the website to contribute, please give them instructions on how to do so.
  • We recommend you ask them to send tax deductible check to SMOi that will be forwarded to you.
• Strategy
  • Third person
  • Max. 400 words
  • What are you doing/going to do/have done overseas?
  • If you have one, what's the name of your sending organization/team?  How are they involved in reaching the lost?  If they have a website, please include the URL.

Optional:

• A link to an online photo album you'd like to share (e.g. Photobucket, Flickr).
• Any semi-permanent Prayer Requests
  • (e.g. for people in your target people group to come to Christ)

After you have checked for spelling and grammar and have emailed these items to Jenn or corey, we can create your profile.  Once your profile page has been created and posted on the website, you will be notified. Proofread it again for accuracy.  Sometimes dates and little things can change.

Editing your SMOi profile:

Changing the information or photos you've given for your profile is possible.  Email corey pendergrass or Jenn Forchetti with any changes that need to be made and we will gladly make those changes to your profile when we can.  It might take a few weeks or more as the ability to edit the website is not always available.

Blogging on the SMOi blog:

• Sign in to your blog account with your Google Account*. (http://www.blogger.com/start)
  If you don't have a Google Account, you'll need to get one since Google owns Blogger. However, registration is by invitation only.  Please notify corey and he will send your invitation asap. (*Note: A Gmail Account is not the same as a Google Account. If you have a Gmail Account, then you automatically have a Google Account in which your gmail address and password serves as your login. On the other hand, if you already have a non-Gmail email (eg., Yahoo, Hotmail, Earthlink, etc.) then you can register that email as your Google Account. Either way permission to be an author on the SMOi Blog is by invitation only.)
• When you sign in, you should see your "Dashboard."  From here you can make new posts and edit old posts.
• PLEASE, DON'T FORGET! When you make a new post, please always add your name (or you and your spouses names) to the Labels field below the body of your post.  This enables viewers to search for your posts by the author's name.

• If you are transposing an old blog post from the old TEOTE Word Press blog, please don't forget to edit the date and time on the new SMOi Blogspot blog.  You can do this by clicking "Post Options" on the same page under the body of the post.
• If a non-member or anyone not logged in to their Google Account makes a comment on your post it will not show up unless you approve it.  This is done to prevent spammers from leaving inappropriate comments. Please check back occasionally to see if your posts have any comments that are are awaiting your approval.
