For the past four years Kyle and Jessica Hoover have lived in Asheville, NC. Kyle was blessed to find a position with a well respected engineering firm shortly after moving, and has had a great opportunity to grow professionally. Kyle recently earned his professional license as a hydrogeologist. In 2007 Kyle was privileged to travel to North Korea as a part of a well drilling project known as WellSpring. Kyle’s skills as a hydrogeologist have immense importance in countries struggling to deal with diseases caused by unsanitary conditions and poor water quality.
Jessica graduated from UNC Asheville in May of 2009 with a degree in Women’s Studies. Jessica also has been working towards certification as a birth doula, a woman who provides emotional and physical support to a woman and her family during childbirth. Jessica’s experience as a birth doula has been enhanced by her time spent volunteering as a Client Advocate at Asheville Pregnancy Support Services, a local crisis pregnancy center. The experiences that Jessica has gained over the past few years have given her a heart for women’s ministry through health education.
The Lord has been very gracious to the Hoovers during their time in Asheville and has provided opportunities to minister in the Church and their community. As they have served, the Lord has grown their hearts and marriage to actively move into a more focused ministry that uses our knowledge and talents for His glory. There prayers have been answered! Kyle and Jessica are currently preparing to actively pursue mission’s work with EQUIP International in Liberia, West Africa. They both believe that there is no greater calling than to use the talents that God has given them to reflect His love, grace and glory to those who are in need both physically and spiritually.

Kyle and Jessica will be traveling to Liberia, West Africa during the summer of 2010 to join EQUIP Liberia’s work to the people of Liberia. EQUIP Liberia is an extension of EQUIP International a missionary training and sending organization located in Marion, NC. Kyle will be working on water and sanitation projects to improve access to clean drinking water. Jessica will be working on women and children’s health initiatives alongside of other EQUIP Liberia workers. The purpose of this ministry is to establish a foothold for the Gospel through meeting the practical daily needs of the Liberian people who have lost so much in the wake of a brutal civil war. Prayer Requests:
- Pray that God would grow and protect Kyle and Jessica’s marriage through this new season of ministry.
- Pray for those already working for EQUIP Liberia that their ministry would be glorifying to God and fruitful and beneficial to the people of Liberia.
- Pray that God would prepare, comfort and encourage Kyle and Jessica’s family through this transition.
- Pray that their support would be raised quickly so that Kyle and Jessica can begin the work in Liberia sooner rather than later.
