Joshua Gay
Former SMOi missionary in England
SWO servant team 2002, summer staff 2003, 2004, 2005, 2007
Birthday: May 2
History:
God blessed Joshua to grow up in a Christian home where his parents instilled in him the importance of knowing Christ. He grew up playing sports, causing trouble, riding dirt bikes and four-wheelers with his friends just like any other active kid. Throughout his teenage years Joshua developed a life long love for soccer, picked up snowboarding, and began to travel. Throughout high school he was living life for himself while continuing to show up at church for the big events. Joshua graduated from high school in 2002, and the summer after graduation God placed a calling on his life that was undeniable and irrevocable. He surrendered his life to God that summer after a long process of the Holy Spirit convicting and breaking him over the sin that was in his life. That fall he headed off to what was the best five years of his life in Wilmington, NC. Joshua attended UNCW where he majored in Communication Studies and Spanish. Going to college at the beach was the best decision he could have ever made because he simply loves the ocean. However, he also got his fill of the mountains working at Snowbird Wilderness Outfitters in Andrews, NC the summers of '03, '04, '05 and '07. Snowbird was the place where he received Christ and was baptized as a teenager. God continued to use this ministry in his life while on summer staff. Working at Snowbird gave Joshua such an amazing opportunity to share his faith with both middle and high school students from across the country. It is also the place where he gained full assurance of the Lord's calling on his life to go and share his faith with the rest of the world. God has been faithful in revealing Himself to Joshua over the years, teaching him about the importance of having a real relationship with Christ rather than a religion.

Strategy:
Joshua left for London with his partner, Darren, in 2007. After some time trying to get settled into the U.K. and find work, he was unable to acquire a visa and had to come back to the U.S. Please pray for Joshua as he continues to serve God on this side of the ocean and for Darren as he presses on in London.
