Shelli's blog
History:
Shelli was born and raised in Parkersburg, Iowa. The consistency of her mother's devotion to studying God's Word and watching God change her Dad as he grew in the depth of his relationship with Christ impacted her deeply. She accepted Christ at a young age, and at the age of 12, God led her to commit to doing whatever He would ask and going wherever He would lead. God has continued to challenge and bless her along the way. As she made mistakes He picked her up, forgave her, and taught her through them. She grew in understanding and faith as she learned more about what a relationship with him entailed.
Shelli has worked 10 summers at three different Christian camps. She started to think that God would balance that with being a teacher for the rest of her life. As she became increasingly comfortable in camp ministry, God grew a desire in her to serve Him in another country. The conviction to obedience grew heavy as she served her third summer at Snowbird Wilderness Outfitters in 2008 and that fall she started researching serving as a teacher in another country.
